Imaginary Mappings

Cartographies imaginaires is a project initiated by UNESCO, Braga Media Arts, the Centre des Arts d'Enghien-les-Bains, and the Institut Français as part of the France-Portugal Season. In collaboration with Miguel De, we were invited to create a collaborative work involving students from Enghien-les-Bains and Braga in Portugal.
Drawing on Guy Debord's psychogeography and the art of urban drifting, the project explores the reappropriation of everyday spaces. The students navigate familiar paths and streets daily. We aimed to have them analyze their experiences, observe their journeys, and make them their own. From these fragments, we constructed a new narrative, blending the materials created by the students.
The project was realized within the framework of the 2022 France-Portugal Season, with support from the Centre des Arts d'Enghien-les-Bains, a scene designated for Art and Creation, the Institut Français, and the UNESCO Creative Cities network.
