EN // Imaginary Mappings is a project that was initiated by UNESCO, Braga Media Arts, Enghien-Les-Bains Art Center, and the French Institute. This, on the occasion of the French-Portugal Season. In collaboration with Miguel De, a Portuguese media artist, we were invited to create a collaborative piece.

This project involved students from Enghien-Les-Bains and Braga, in Portugal.

From the reflections on the psychogeography of Guy Debord, the art of « Urban wanderings » allows us to reclaim the space we live in. Students cross every day the same roads, and same paths, we asked them to analyze their feelings, observe their paths and re-appropriate them. From these fragments, we created a new narration by using the materials given by the students.

FR // Cartographies imaginaires est un projet qui a été initié par l’UNESCO, Braga Media Arts, le CDA d’Enghien-les-Bains et l’institut Français à l’occasion de la saison France-Portugal. En collaboration avec Miguel De, nous avons été invités à créer ensemble une œuvre collaborative. Ce projet a impliqué des étudiants et étudiantes de la ville d’Enghien-Les-Bains et de Braga au Portugal.

A partir des reflexions autour de la psychogéographie de Guy Debord, l’art de la dérive urbaine permet de se réapproprier son espace de vie, traversé tous les jours. Les étudiants et étudiantes traversent les mêmes chemins, les mêmes rues ; nous souhaitions leur demander d’analyser ce ressenti, d’observer leurs parcours, de se l’approprier. A partir de ces fragments, nous construisons une nouvelle narration mêlant ainsi les matériaux réalisés par les étudiants.
